Head of Directorate-General I at the Federal Ministry of Finance

Jakob von Weizsäcker was appointed Director-General for economic and fiscal policy strategy and international issues at the Federal Ministry of Finance in 2019. From 2014 to 2019, he served a Member of the European Parliament where he was as a member of the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs and the Delegation for relations with India. Previously, he worked at the Ministry for Economy in Thuringia, the Brussels-based think tank Bruegel, the World Bank and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs.
